Barbara E. “Barbie” Myers, 68, of Palestine, IL passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2018 at the Magnolia Center at Crawford Memorial Hospital.
Celebration of Barbie’s Life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL. Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of service at the funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that an expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Palestine Wine and Arts Festival or the First United Methodist Church in Robinson, IL. Barbara Esther “Barbie” Myers, 68, of Palestine, IL, originally of Oblong, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Magnolia Center at Crawford Memorial Hospital.
Barbie was born in Robinson, IL on February 24, 1949 to James Herbert Rich and Irene Louise (Ribley) Rich.
She was a Christian, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Robinson, IL, the Oblong High School Class of 1967, Ladies of the Moose and the Robinson BPO-Elks. She had also been President of the Palestine Art Guild, a member of the Crawford County Arts Council, member of the Palestine Chamber of Commerce and Owner and Operator of the Grand Prairie Art Studio in Palestine. Barbie had worked as a Registered Nurse at Crawford Memorial Hospital for many years starting as a candy striper while in high school. She loved to garden, both flowers and vegetables, and her hobbies also included fine arts and arts and crafts. Barbie revived the Tracy Reunion and attended the Ribley Cousins Reunion.
Barbie is survived by three children Peggy Price, Oblong, IL, Gina Smith, St. Petersburg, FL, Steve and Paula Myers, Oblong, IL; six grandchildren Tyler and Carolyn Price, Cynthiana, IN, Emily and James Brown, Evansville, IN, Austin Smith and Colin Smith, Carmel, IN, Lewis Myers and Harlei Myers, Oblong, IL; three great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Roman and Elliott Price, Cynthiana, IN. She is also survived by a brother Phillip and Nancy Rich, Oblong, IL; and a sister Janis and Greg Daugherty, Palestine, IL along with several nieces and nephews, cousins, and her faithful dog, Mini.
She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles and several cousins.
